February/March Favourites and Disappointments

Hello! I’m back 🙂 Thank you for your patience! I graduate in 51 days! YAY!

I have 5 items for my favourites, I haven’t tried a lot of things, although I have recently purchased two new skincare items- reviews coming on those!

Let’s dive right in 🙂

So all through February and March I have been using these products, non stop, some on the daily!

Let’s start with skincare, since it’s the foundation of our routine! (Get it? hehehe)

The Irish Moor Mud line from Peter Thomas Roth is AMAZING. I have used the cleanser every day with my Clarisonic Mia 2 cleanser, it has kept my breakouts at bay, although my pesky monthly ones still appear! The bonus with this product is that I have been using it every day for 2 months and I’m half way done the tiny bottle! It will definitely be repurchased once I am done this bottle! The mask is great as well, it only stays on for 10 minutes and it feels nice. I expected it to dry down and become hard and tight on my skin, but instead it stayed soft and still cleaned out my pores! I use the mask maybe once a week along with my Truself Organic Mask!

I use it at night, it tightens and purifies my skin overnight! This, along with my Irish Moor Mud cleanser, is a heaven sent. It smells like lavender and is so soft. At first it felt like a weird film was over my face… I was using TOO MUCH product! A little goes a long way for myself, a small pea sized amount does my entire face and with that small amount- there’s no weird film! I haven’t used it under makeup, only at night, but I am almost out of this container and with my next one, during summer – my super oily season – I plan to test it during the day. Right now I just can’t bear to stop using my Neostrata moisturizer! I honestly love every thing from Truself Organics that I have tried so far… you won’t be disappointed!

Alrighty, I may have mentioned this before but I have used this since the middle of January (except maybe 4 times – more on that later). It’s Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation stick – I am in the colour, R230. I was colour matched at Sephora in Winnipeg and this surprisingly is my shade! [I actually have yellow undertones but they matched me with the red undertoned shade!] So please, go get colour matched if you can…it is interesting and takes out the guesswork! Especially with high end products. This leaves me with natural looking skin, (I make my own “dewiness” – LOL) and it is not drying. It lasts all day although my nose does tend to “break up” in the afternooon – but that may be my primer, and not this lovely foundation.

Last favourite of this post is my beautiful Maria Carey by Mac lipstick in shade Mcizzle. It’s my perfect everyday shade and the packaging is gorgeous! I love the glitter packing with the butterfly stamped lippie. Her signature is of course on the lipstick packaging! I was so obsessed with this lipstick that after it sold out on Mac.ca, I ordered it off Mac.com, and sent it to a friend’s place in the states! I had to wait extra time, but it was totally worth it. 🙂

**I can’t find a link for this! It was limited edition**

Ok so for my disappointment of the months, it has to be the Loreal Infalliable Total Cover foundation. The foundation itself, when I tested it out for 4 days was actually quite nice. It wore well and didn’t break me out. BUT it is in my disappointments because of the shade range. I desperately wanted to try their Pro Matte foundation but am approximately 10 shades too light for their lightest shade…. soooooo I tried this! Their lightest shade is too light and their second lightest shade is too dark! I gifted the lightest shade to a friend who is fairer than myself and am hoping it doesn’t wash her out like it did me!

Did you have any favourites or disappointments? Tell me below if you agree or disagree!
